Hooked On Camp 2014 Raises More Than $17,000
More than 18 people caught over 100 fish during Hooked On Camp, a tournament fundraiser, on Oct. 23-24, 2014, on YMCA Camp Harrison's Lake Broyhill.
The annual event raised more than $17,000 for Camp Blue Skies Foundation. The title sponsor for this year's event was Dynamic Health & Pain Management of Charlotte.
Many participants arrived Thursday evening and enjoyed a hearty dinner. Hooked On Camp captain Gene Vaughn went over guidelines and safety practices. John Wendel, NBC Charlotte meteorologist and honorary chairman for the tourney, provided the weather report.
Nine boats cast off the dock early Friday morning. As the fog and the chill lifted, it was a glorious day for fishing.
