3 Improv Charlotte shows to benefit Camp Blue Skies
Improv Charlotte, an award-winning comedy group in the Queen City, selected Camp Blue Skies as their charity partner for July, August, and September.
Improv Charlotte will donate 100% of its profits from its July 12, Aug. 9, and Sept. 13 performances to Camp Blue Skies’ mission of providing camps to adults with developmental disabilities. Tickets are $10 for each Friday show at Free Range Brewing in Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood.
Improv Charlotte’s mission is to serve its community through comedy by creating inclusive, family-friendly improv that benefits nonprofits and charities in the Charlotte area.
Christy Wade, a long-time volunteer and a member of Camp Blue Skies Board of Directors, is a big fan of Improv Charlotte. She put us on their radar and helped make this happen. “One of the campers’ favorite nights is the Variety Show, which features a lot of improv. I couldn’t think of a more perfect complement than for Improv Charlotte to pay tribute to Camp Blue Skies,” Christy says. “If you’ve never seen an Improv Charlotte performance, you are in for a treat. They are truly talented stars … just like our campers!”
Camp Blue Skies team members, volunteers, board members, and campers will be at the shows. Look for Christy and her husband Collin (another Camp Blue Skies supporter) at the July 12 show.
